Australia on the Fashion Scene: Camilla and Marc

UK newspaper The Observer described Camilla and Marc as a brand to watch in July 2013 and Vogue Australia defined the brand hallmarks as a combination of luxurious fabrics, colourful prints and eccentric details. Now here’s why I want you to watch the brand…

Camilla and Marc is an Australian women’s fashion label launched in 2003 at Australian Fashion Week by Sydney based brother and sister Camilla ( Freeman-Topper) and Marc Freeman. Camilla studied fashion at Whitehouse Institute of Design, Sydney, before winning a scholarship and spending a year studying at Accademia italiana in Florence, Italy. Marc Freeman trained in engineering before joining his sister in running the label. Like the Zimmermann sisters, Marc manages the business, marketing and sales, while Camilla is designer.

The brand has been exporting since its second season. International stockists include Saks Fifth Avenue, Net-a-Porter and Intermix.  A-list wearers of the brand have included Kate Bosworth, Kirsten Dunst, Rose Byrne and Kristen Stewart.

The best designs from the label

Autumn/Winter 2016

The Manhattan coat is neat and crisp and is perfect of sitting on a bench in the park while sipping hot chocolate and looking impossibly stylish. It’s perfect for the Australian winter.

Second Winter 2016

AUD $385.00

This mini dress  is a stylish (yet so elegant) party dress, perfect for evening wear and partying along the beach or sitting in cafes and sipping lattes (maybe not)

Resort 2015

AUD $1,099

Remember those luxurious materials that everyone loves? The places dress will make you look stylish every place (see what I did there) this chic dress brings you.

C&M has a look for every season, whether you just want to sip hot chocolate or lying on the beach, all with their trademark modern style. Like many labels C&M has a blog which I recommend you check out, Camilla even has a Paris travel guide!

Camilla and Marc is different from Zimmermann and Ae’lkemi in the fact that it is more minimalist and modern and is less centred on being too centred on patterns (but Zimmermann and Ae’lkemi are awesome in their own right), making C&M new, fresh and just chic.

You can order Camilla & Marc designs from their website.
